"If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need."

- Cicero

Gardens, palaces, galleries, cathedrals, museums... They epitomize the pinnacle of old world culture.  Reflect upon the great splendor of Versailles, the pomp and circumstance of Buckingham Palace and the changing of the guard, the brilliant Dutch masters in the Rijksmuseum, the vast and reflective halls of Notre Dame, and the unforgettable charm of King Ludwig's Neuschwanstein castle.  They are the prime movers for international travel. Understanding the magnetic appeal of these magnificent contributions to culture, our company is built around a healthy appreciation for the finer things around the world. Whatever the obvious purpose there is for a tour, we strive to showcase each host culture's unique wealth of contributions to history and the arts.
"It is well that war is so terrible - otherwise we would grow too fond of it."

- Robert E. Lee

Battlefields and places of important actions in human history have become incredible attractions to humans in the present.  All of the books, films, and games cannot replicate what it is to stand on the very spot where some major event occurred...

Here is the GBC difference:  We lean heavily on local guides where appropriate, but the real gem is how we weave in the connections and greater historical picture.  We don't offer a perspective that is limited to one war or one political/national view, either.  In addition to drawing upon first-hand experience working under Stephen Ambrose, Tom Hanks, and Steven Spielberg, we engage with historians and guides in Europe and the United States to create a much broader, connected viewpoint.  And while the broad strokes tie history together, we always include those personal stories and locations that bring it to life.  From Anne Frank's attic hide-away, to shell-torn bunkers and forts where great battles took place, to walking over the ruins of Hitler's Alpine mansion, experience history first hand.
"“Original, in French: La bonne cuisine est la base du véritable bonheur. English: Good food is the foundation of genuine happiness.”

― August Escoffier

Cuisine and drink: how can one truly understand a culture without it?  With over 30 years of combined experience in the restaurant, bar, and hospitality business, GBC was founded by true connoisseurs of taste.  Our background includes work in the kitchens and at the tables of one of Napa Valley's star chefs, an Iron Chef master from Fort Lauderdale, and two James Beard award winning chefs in the culinary capital of New Orleans.  Understanding of the role of food and drink in culture, we seek to find the best places to experience, enjoy and share it, appreciating this vital role in the travel experience.

We go through every effort to ensure that locations where we dine and drink reflect regional tastes, made by local chefs with their recipes.  Every critic and native knows the difference between "tourist" food and that which is truly reflective of home.

Taste the GBC difference.
